Arela Çarku has completed her master’s studies in Clinical Psychology at the University of Tirana and she is specialized in Group-Analytic Psychotherapy, a training course accredited by the Institute of Group Analysis, London. She has gained great experience though teaching in the field of clinical psychology at Faculty of Social Sciences and at the University of New York, Tirana. She practices her profession in private clinical practice, as well as with organizations that offer psycho-social integration services. She has experience working with victims of trafficking and complex traumas. As a result, the areas of expertise she addresses in clinical practice include the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, complex traumas, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, as well as psychological concerns related to gender identity and sexual orientation issues. She offers individual and group therapy sessions and works with both early and late adulthood.
Arela has qualified as a group psychotherapist, (analytical approach), a qualification course accredited from the Institute of Group Analysis, United Kingdom. She is member of the Group Analysis Association in Albania, and GASi – Group Analytic Society International, as well as the European program for the Psychological and Emotional Well-being of Employees (EAPComprehensive Employee Support Program).
